About Glow Blocks

By Mapi Games

Glow Blocks takes the timeless block-stacking formula that made Tetris a global phenomenon and wraps it in gorgeous neon visuals. If you've ever lost hours to "just one more game" of Tetris, prepare to do it again—but this time in a glowing cyberpunk universe.

How to Play

Falling Blocks
Different-shaped blocks (called tetrominoes) fall from the top of the screen. Each piece is made of 4 connected squares.
Stack and Clear
Guide each piece left, right, and rotate it to fit into the pile below. When you complete a full horizontal line with no gaps, that line disappears and you earn points.
Don't Top Out
If your stack reaches the top of the screen, the game ends.

The Seven Tetrominoes

I-Piece (Cyan): The long straight piece. Perfect for clearing 4 lines at once (a "Tetris").
O-Piece (Yellow): The square. Doesn't rotate. Easy to place but creates gaps.
T-Piece (Purple): Versatile T-shape. Great for filling odd spaces.
S-Piece (Green): S-shaped. Tricky to stack cleanly.
Z-Piece (Red): Z-shaped. The mirror of S.
L-Piece (Orange): L-shaped. Useful for corners.
J-Piece (Blue): Reverse L. Same utility, different orientation.

Scoring System

Single (1 line): Base points
Double (2 lines): More than 2x single
Triple (3 lines): Even more
Tetris (4 lines): Maximum points! Save your I-pieces for this.

Clearing multiple lines simultaneously earns bonus points. The more lines at once, the bigger the reward.

Speed and Levels

As you clear lines, your level increases. Higher levels mean faster falling pieces. What starts as a leisurely puzzle becomes a frantic race against gravity.

Why Block Puzzles Never Get Old

The genius of Tetris-style games is the simple loop: see piece, plan placement, execute. It's pure spatial reasoning with instant feedback. The neon aesthetic of Glow Blocks adds visual satisfaction to each cleared line—watching those glowing rows vanish never gets old.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Glow Blocks the same as Tetris?

Glow Blocks is inspired by Tetris and uses the same block-stacking mechanics, but with a unique neon visual style. The core gameplay of clearing lines by stacking blocks is the same.

What is a Tetris clear?

A Tetris is when you clear 4 lines at once, which requires placing a long I-piece into a 4-row-tall gap. It gives the most points per line cleared.

How do I rotate blocks?

Press the Up arrow or Space bar to rotate the falling piece. Each press rotates it 90 degrees clockwise.

Why is the game getting faster?

The game speeds up as you level up (by clearing more lines). This increasing difficulty is what makes high scores challenging to achieve.
